"Occasionally Real: Writing a "True" Poem on Assignment"
“Can you write a poem for/about this?” The request can be a creative spark or a terrifying ask. Two poets who have written “on assignment” for several projects, including Cascadia Field Guide: Art, Ecology, Poetry and Theorem, will discuss their experiences, strategies for hewing to and departing from the task at hand, how to work with collaborators and editors in what is usually a solitary process.
