Michael Dylan Welch has been writing haiku since 1976 and teaching since about 1990. He has won numerous poetry contests, and his poetry has been published in at least twenty-two languages in hundreds of journals and anthologies. His poetry, translations, and interviews have also been broadcast on numerous radio stations. His books include Seven Suns / Seven Moons with Tanya McDonald; four Ebooks of “hydrogen jukebox” poems published by Bones; Becoming a Haiku Poet; True Colour; and For a Moment. Michael is poet laureate for the city of Redmond, Washington, and is the proprietor of National Haiku Writing Month. He lives with his family in Sammamish, Washington.
